Installing Canvases Into A Canvas Frame

Framing a canvas helps to add those finishing touches whether it's a piece of art or a canvas print of your favorite family photos. However, you might be confused with the hardware that goes along with this. Installing a canvas into a canvas frame is easy if you follow these steps.

Canvas Clips Installation Instructions

A canvas clip is a tension clip that holds a canvas in the frame. We send a preset number of clips with each canvas frame based on the size.

Your canvas clip packet will include: 

Canvas Clip Hardware

  • Canvas clips
  • Screws

You'll also need the following to attach your clips: 

  • Screwdriver

How To Install Canvas Clips

Canvas Clip Installation 1

Lay the clips out equally around the back of the frame so they can best support the canvas.

The side of the clip with the hole goes on the frame. The clip's arch should point towards the back of the frame. 

Canvas Clip Installation 3

Attach the clip to the frame with the screws provided.

Offset Clips Installation Instructions

Securing your canvas in your floater frame is easy with offset clips. Depending on the size of your frame, we send a preset amount that will keep your canvas safe and secure in your frame.

Your canvas clip packet will include: 

Offset Clip Hardware

  • Offset clips
  • Screws

You'll also need the following to attach your clips: 

  • Screwdriver

How To Install Offset Clips

Line up the miter lines of the frame and stretched canvas.

Offset Clip Installation 2

We send a preset number of clips with each floater frame based on the size. Lay the clips out equally around the back of the frame so they can best support your canvas. 

Offset Clip Installation 3

Attach the offset clip to the canvas with the screws provided.

For extra stability, secure the clip to the frame with the remaining screws. 

Once the canvas is installed inside the frame, you can add the hanging hardware. Learn how to properly install your chosen hanging hardware here.
