If you make a small change to the frame and see a huge price difference, that small change pushed the frame size into an oversized shipment. The shipping cost increased proportionately.

Yes, you should enter the exact measurements of your artwork. The mat opening will be cut 1/4" smaller in height and width to cover 1/8" of the edges of the artwork and make sure it does not come through the mat opening. If you are not selecting a mat, the frame will cover 1/4" all around as well, reducing the viewing area by 1/8" in height and width as well.

No, you do not. When you select a mat on your order, you will see the frame size increase to accommodate.

Our picture frames and shadow boxes feature frame grade acrylic. We use acrylic instead of glass for many benefits. For one, acrylic is much more shatter-resistant. Frames featuring acrylic glazing are also much more lightweight. In addition to those points, acrylic is less expensive than glass to pass through those savings to our customers. There are two options when it comes to the acrylic we offer for picture frames. The first is a standard frame grade acrylic with UV protection properties. The UV protection will help preserve and protect your images and art from light damage. The second option is a non-glare frame grade acrylic. This is a great option for hanging artwork near a light source to cut down on, and in most cases, eliminate glare. Non-glare acrylic has a cloudy appearance when it's in a frame, but against artwork and/or matting, the cloudiness disappears, leaving you with a crisp, glare-free view of your image or artwork. For this reason, we do not offer non-glare acrylic as an option for shadow boxes.

Canvas clips are tension clips to hold a stretched canvas in a frame with no acrylic and backing. You can use these with canvases of different depths.

We can customize our frames' height and width, but we cannot customize the frame molding itself. We cannot change the color of a frame, but we do offer many of our frames in multiple color options.

Rabbet depth is the amount of space inside the frame to accommodate your artwork package. The acrylic and backing take up ¼" of the listed rabbet depth for a frame. If you are ordering your frame with acrylic and backing, take ¼" off the rabbet get the usable depth.

Our picture frames come with a white foam core backing. We can do a black foam core backing as well. If you would like black backing instead, please reach out to customer service when you place your order.

Framer's acrylic is frame-grade acrylic that is crystal clear like glass but is lighter and is designed specifically for framing. This acrylic is also more shatter-resistant than glass. Our framer's acrylic has UV protection properties.

Both our framer's acrylic and the non-glare acrylic are 94% UV resistant.

Our frame-grade, non-glare acrylic is made to reduce any glare from windows or lights while still offering 94% UV protection. After peeling off the protective film, it's easy to get the acrylic turned around. The smooth side should face the image when re-installing the acrylic into the frame. The best way to determine which side is which is to hold the acrylic up and determine which side reflects light. You should put that side against the artwork to achieve a non-glare look. If you place the smooth, shiny side out, your image will appear fuzzy.

The backings are held in place with push tabs. You can use a flathead screwdriver or a butter knife to lift the tabs, and once everything is in place, you will push the tabs back down to secure.

The frame will cover ¼" on all sides, taking ½" off the height and ½" off the width of any artwork.

The backing of the frame features push tabs to hold your artwork package in place. You can use a flathead screwdriver or a butter knife to lift the tabs. Take the backing and acrylic out to remove the protective film from both sides of the acrylic. You can then put the acrylic back in, followed by your artwork, and replace the backing. Once everything is inside, you push the tabs on the black back down, and you are all set!

Security hangers are brackets that attach to the back of the frame as well as the wall. The hangers lock in place with a T Lock wrench. You will need that T Lock wrench to remove the frame from the wall. Commonly used by businesses, such as hotels and restaurants, these hangers are perfect for large and heavy frames or for hanging a frame in a place that could cause injury if it fell.
